History
Pleasant Township was confirmed in 1834. It received the name “Pleasant” because of the pleasant landscape.
The petitioners for Pleasant Township selected the name Mount Pleasant, but the court disagreed. Because of the pleasant landscape, it was named merely Pleasant. This aerial view, looking west over the south side of Warren and Pleasant Township, was taken by Everett Stoke on June 14, 1970. Pleasant Township was formed from Limestone Township by order of the court and confirmed during the March session in 1834.
